General Advice
Mitochondria are found in every cell in the body. The different mitochondrial diseases affect different parts of the body to different degrees but they all share one feature; in all of them the symptoms that patients experience are because their cells are not making enough ATP to power the cell properly. This means that we are able to give general advice that applies to all patients with mitochondrial disease.
